Nectarine thrives better on deep and sandy soils with appropriate drainage. As a tree nectarines are resistant to frost up to -15°C, then blooms in the spring, but it is highly sensitive to spring frosts that can destroy its flowers.

The fruit bulk of our nectarine production comes from the Prefecture of Pella and Imathia in the North of Greece. Our harvesting technique for nectarines goes as follows. We determine the appropriate degree of maturity of the nectarine, the colour and size of the fruit (characteristic of each variety), the flesh’s consistency and the number of parts from full blossoming. This way we assure that our wholesale fruit delivery will arrive in your hands as fresh as possible.

Of course, we should stress that not all fruits get the desired degree of maturity at the same time. Thus, it is appropriate not to harvest all the fruit of the tree in one collection. This is the reason why nectarine fruits are harvested slowly to have a proper uniformity.

Nectarines fruit supplies your body with a great source of vitamin C and beta-carotene. Nectarines improve the immunity system, protect vision, improve skin health and softness and they are widely used as digestive aids.

Tip for the Consumer

Fru.Eat’s suggestion for the consumption of nectarines is quiet simple. Store the fruit at room temperature, but do to put them in the refrigerator before they mature. This is because the cooling makes will result in tasteless nectarines. However, if you do put them in the refrigerator, you should eat them within a few days otherwise they will start to lose their tastiness and juiciness.
